Our stay at the Jungle Villa in La Vida Resort in Bastimentos, was an unforgettable experience defined by its remarkable seclusion and personal service. Nestled in lush surroundings, it felt like our own private sanctuary, perfect for exploring idyllic beaches and local trails at our leisure (walkable and on Zappatillas).

Bumba (our boat captain) was the highlight of our trip. He had a great understanding of the archipelago and showed us beautiful places to snorkel and was so easygoing. James (the host) greeted us when we arrived and made sure we had a perfect experience. Orlando crafted exquisite cocktails and provided wonderful service, while Telfina (the chef) provided incredible food.

We did experience a brief power outage during rain (as expected) but were quickly restored. Although we noticed a lack of places to hang wet items after our adventures, this was a minor detail in an otherwise perfect experience. The occasional critters added to the charm of this eco-friendly villa

We spent 5 nights at the La Vida resort. It was an amazing experience staying in the Jungle house. We had sloths, lots of birds and a caiman right outside our door. A special thanks to Heronimo and Ronaldino as well Luna for the fantastic food, drinks and conversations. Highly recommend the walk and tour at the local indigenous village.

The place is a paradise, private and at the same time surrounded by lots of nature, beach and trails to explore the island.
The delicious food and the hosts are very attentive to meeting our needs.

I would like to give more stars if it were possible. The location is breathtaking. What James and Lucy have created and are in the process of creating deserves a lot of respect. It is important to know that it is in a remote location. But that is exactly what makes it special. I have never found it difficult to drive. And we will definitely come back! We had a wonderful time at La Vida Resort. The area is beautiful and we really enjoyed the two restaurants that were about a 20 minute walk from the resort. James is a very attentive host and worked with us to plan excursions . Anytime that we needed something for the bungalow he immediately sent one of his staff to get it to us.

The Jungle Villa is an absolute dream… peaceful, immersed in nature, and the perfect home base for exploring the islands. But what really makes this stay special is James. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need from coordinating logistics to handling the little things that make a trip seamless. His hospitality is next level and you can tell he genuinely cares about making your experience unforgettable. Huge shoutout to Hilario as well he’s incredibly reliable and always quick to handle any request with care and efficiency, making the stay even smoother and more enjoyable! Perfect stay if you want a quiet place and a long way from civilization to rest. Beautiful beach easily accessible. Multiple mosquito nets on site, but bring mosquito hunting. ❤️ James was a great host and helped us and responded quickly with our questions. Very good restaurants, a little more expensive than in the area, but the service and food were well worth the price.

A unique place, cut off from civilization and which, thanks to the excursions offered by its host James, allows you to discover the islands and activities of the archipelago.
I really emphasize the very good communication with James, because thanks to that, we had an unforgettable stay.
The accommodation is very functional and a stone's throw from the beach.
